Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born on the 18th of November 1985 in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was an athletically inclined child and discovered her love for sprinting at Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following her initial attempt, she placed 2nd in the 200-meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix, who graduated high school in 2003, signed an agreement with Adidas. Then she went to the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. The first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record running 200m in 22.18 seconds. The year 2005 was the time she was the youngest world champion of 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007, defeating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix took part in the Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo regularly placing in the top three places in all her competitions.
